DHC, a Japanese brand are launching some new lipsticks that are said to be age-busting due to their ingredients including macadamia nut oil, olive oil and rice bran oil to moisturise; collagen and sodium hyaluronate to lock in moisture and vitamin A and geranium to protect and condition.
The lipsticks come in 6 shades and are priced at £13 each.
I have been testing three of them out and here are my thoughts.
Firstly I really like the casing – the gold and silver tubes with the elegant etching is quite lovely and adds a premium feel the lipsticks. These would look lovely on a dressing table or pulled out of a classy evening clutch bag.
The formula of these is nice – they are slick and creamy but not too slick that they slide around everywhere and bleed. Due to the 3 natural oils in the lipstick they glide onto the lips and moisturise through out wear.
I think the pigmentation of these is pretty good, they are opaque enough to show up nicely and you can blot and add another layer if you really want to make an impact. The finish of these lipsticks is really nice and they add a bit of sheen to the lips meaning you can skip gloss if you want to. The sheen that these add make your lips look more plump than if you wore a matte lip colour and I am all for plump when it comes to lippies!
Whilst the colours are pretty and very wearable there are no super bright shades, which is a bit of shame if you ask me, however I think the selection available will appeal to a lot of ladies. Its just that I love a bit of fuchsia when it comes to lipstick!
In terms of wear they are good but not all that long lasting. Having said that my lips feel smooth and moisturised while wearing them and I dont mind re-applying after a few hours.
For me the packaging is just gorgeous and the formula of these is really nice – they feel lovely on the lips and colours are so wearable, all at an affordable price – a winner in my book!
You can buy these at DHC UK from 1st August though some stores such as Fenwicks, Beauty Mart and Selfridges also stock DHC products.
Thanks for reading!
P.S – this post contains PR samples, however my reviews are always honest and my thoughts are my own You can trust me on that, but you cant trust me not to steal your blusher if I like it!
