Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Lip Laquer

Boots No 7 Lip Laquer

I am not really a big fan of lipstick…I drink a lot of tea and love snacking so I get annoyed when my lipstick wears off quickly and I can’t really be bothered to re-apply, for that reason I tend to put it on in the morning and then its faded by mid morning and I don’t reapply.

This nifty little product from No 7 appealed to me since its a lip laquer and therefore long lasting (Boots claims it lasts up to 8 hours)….I put it the test!

  • Lipstain and Lipgloss in a variety of shades
  • Very longwearing lipstain
  • Reasonable price – £10.00
  • Slightly drying, but can be fixed with lipbalm
  • I am giving this a 4/5

Boots No 7 Lip Laquer

It has 2 ends. One is the lipstain or lipstick end, which has a doe foot applicator on it. It has medium pigmentation. It slides on nicely. It is matte.

You wait a few seconds for it to dry and then apply the other end which is a gloss with a brush applicator. The gloss is sparkly and feels nice on the lips. Its not sticky and doesn’t have a taste (IMO).

The wear on this is great!! I didn’t expect it to be as good as it is, but I am a fan! It survives drinks and full on 3 course meals. Admittedly the gloss disappeared after my meal but low and behold the lipstain remained, with only minor fading. I get good mileage out of this product. Usually I don’t reapply the lipstain but I do reapply the gloss, so I imagine the gloss will finish before the stain. That’s fine for me since I can use the stain with one of my many other glosses!

The lipstain can be a little drying so I recommend using a lipbalm before you apply it. I sometimes skip lipbalm and its I can get by without too much negative effect on my lips, but its best to apply lipbalm a few minutes before the No 7.

I think this comes in a few shades, one to suit everyone! I have this in ‘Sugar Mauve‘ and its really pretty.

The packaging is sleek and the lids stay on nicely without leaking. You get a reasonable amount of product, 3ml each side. Given I don’t need to constantly reapply during the day means this should last for a long time before it needs replacing.

Boots are always handing out £5 off No 7 vouchers, meaning you can get this for a really good price. I think they next time they have the offer on I will get some other colours.

All of No 7 products are hypoallegenic which is great and they do not test on animals.

This is a winner for me, try it out for yourself and let me know your thoughts!?

  • I bought this on your recommendation and i love it. I think lipstick needs to have a lipstain or its all off by the time you have a drink or eat something so this just leaves a hint of colour to keep yr face looking pretty.

  • Wow – glad you really like it too! Awesome! Yes, I agree – all lipsticks need to be long wearing if you ask me! I am going to get more of the No 7 ones in different shades as I think they are a winner and I have 3 of those “£5 off” vouchers to use before the end of this week! Thanks xx

  • Love Pink was a bit too light for me, but today I bought Nectar which I really like and might be better for day time use! Again I had a £5 off voucher so the price ended up being great! Enjoy your new lippy – and thanks for your comment Michelle xx
