Illamasqua Naked Strangers – Collection Launch and Review of Naked Rose Blush and Intimacy Lip Gloss
A couple of weeks ago Illamasqua released their latest collection – Naked Strangers and I popped along to their store near Carnaby Street for the launch party!
Of course, whilst I was there sipping on cocktails I couldn’t help but pick up a blush and a lip gloss from the collection!
The night at Illamasqua was like all of their launches a great event! There were gorgeous models there looking stunning and covered head to toe in gold!
You could have your nails done or your make up by one of the lovely Illamasqua make up or nail artists and have a nice browse around! The staff were all really helpful and friendly, I had a great time!
This is what Illamasqua say about the Naked Strangers collection:
Exploring the boundaries between light and dark, the Naked Stranger collection from Illamasqua reveals a decadent colour palette of sumptuous nudes, offset against rich liquid metals. Seeking to capture your inner glow and hidden depths, expect shimmer studded, gilded glosses and natural blushes in soft beige and pink hues, designed to give a provocative flush of colour.
Now on to the items I bought at the event!
- £16.50 for 4.5g
- Matte finish
- Described as a “Neutral Beige Pink”
- Limited Edition (may be made perm if it sells well!)
- Very pigmented and long wearing
This is a lovely, very chic and wearable blush from Illamasqua. In true form with their other blushes it is really good quality, pigmented and blendable. I also find that the blushes are very long wearing, which is really good for people like me with oily skin. Illamasqua blushes never break me out either, so that is another great thing!
The shade gives a gorgeous “well polished” look that goes well with a variety of eye shadows and lip shades. This sort of shade should be in every girl’s makeup bag, and its perfect work and school. I think this would suit a variety of skin tones and occasions.
This blush is pigmented and you only need to dab your brush in, however I noticed it seems more of the powder flies off into the air with this blush than other Illamasqua blushes I have used in the past, I am not sure if they have tweaked their formula or not?! The blush is silky smooth and finely milled – every blush should be like this!!!
The wear is really good, it lasts on me all day, and a lot better than MAC blushes which I have to reapply half way through the day, I also find these are more pigmented and blendable than MAC blushes.
I love this blusher and it will be a favourite in my make up stash for a long time to come. I hope they make it permanent! It is well worth the £16.50 pricetag!
5/5 from me!

- £13.00 for 7ml

- Described as a “Nude Pink Brown”
- Non sticky
- Doe foot applicator
- Limited Edition (but may be made permanent if it sells well)
This is my first lip gloss from Illamasqua, and I do like it! It applies nicely, and it gives a lovely glossy, sheer finish to the lips making them look fuller. It doesn’t contain any glitter, which I like and its nice worn on its own and on top of lipsticks. I like the versatility of this lip gloss, and again like the blush its quite a classy and chic colour, which will suit many make up looks and skin tones.
I like that the gloss is not sticky and the wear is okay on me, it lasts about 3 hours or so if I don’t eat or drink anything (a rare thing for me!). It doesn’t dry out my lips which I think is a great thing about this gloss.
I like the doe foot applicator, a first from Illamasqua apparently and the gloss can be layered for a more intense look, which is cool!
I do like this gloss but I am not in love with it. For that reason I am giving the gloss 4/5
