Review:
I really like Rodial products and I was excited to try this concealer from them. Along with the BB Venom Cream which will also be released on the 19th August, these are the first make up products to be made by Rodial. Both of these are exclusive to Harrods.
This concealer is similar to the world famous YSL Touche Eclat in that it’s a light reflecting concealer, especially produced for the under eye area. I do suffer from dark circles under my eyes, and I have had a good experience from this concealer. In comparison to the Touche Eclat, this Rodial one is more pigmented and it is longer wearing, and most importantly the Rodial contains all these active ingredients that the Touch Eclat doesn’t!
In terms of application, its easy – it has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to dab on the area and then I just blend it in with my finger.
The coverage is light to medium. You have to bear in mind this is because it’s a light reflecting concealer and if you have very severe dark circles or intend to use this to cover bad acne or acne scarring then this is not the product for you. I have however used it on my and the coverage is actually better than I expected and in a jam I could use this, but that’s not what its really made for!
I really like this under the eye area. It really does instantly brighten and covers my dark circles (which are not that bad). You don’t need much of this, it has light -medium pigmentation but its effective.
I apply this once in the morning and it lasts all day, no need to re-apply, which again is really good, and considering this is quite pricey, its great that you don’t need touch ups.
Now, I don’t have any crows feet (yet), but my mum does so I gave it to her to try on her 59 year old skin. She loved this, she said it really does cover them up and almost acted as an eye treatment as well as a concealer. After using it for a week she said she could feel the benefit of the hyaluronic acid and the eye area felt more moisturised. She does not use an eye cream by the way…just so you know!
She really didn’t want to give it back to me – I had to beg her for it back!! She has already told me that she will buy it when it comes out in August.
I enjoyed using this and I think it’s a great product. You may hesitate buying this but it will last a long time since you don’t need a lot of it and its really good, you should really consider giving it a try!
It is important to note that nothing from snakes is used in this product, as the name may imply, so no snakes or other animals were hurt in the making of this product
I am perplexed by the packaging, its nice and smart but it reminds me of a lipgloss rather than a concealer for some reason.
One downside of this concealer is that it only comes in two shades, but perhaps they will add more shades to the line once its been on sale for a while? For reference I am light -medium olive skinned (MAC NC35) and I used Malibu shade which is a good match for me and its the darker of the two shades this comes in.
Here are the ingredients:
Overall I am giving this 4/5!
Thanks for reading, Grace xx

Ah it sucks that it doesn’t come in more shades but I guess they would rather want to see how it works on a small consumer base before ranging out. It sounds like a good product and it sounds like it will last for a while if not much is needed – thanks for the review.

Hey LaaLaa, thanks for your comment! I know its a shame about the shades but Rodial will bring out more shades if the product is popular, which I think it will be. If you remember, YSL only had a few shades of their Touche Eclat when that first came out, then they added more, hopefully this will happen with the Rodial. Thanks for your comment darling x
