Kleenex Shine Absorbing Sheets
Ever get a bout of the mid-day oilies? Find that you have an unattractive ‘shine‘ on your face at you need to eliminate, but you don’t want a heavy powder?! I feel your pain, trust me!
I have normal/oily combination skin which means I always get plagued by the dreaded ‘oilies’ by mid-day. I have tried lots of powders, mattifyers and paper blotting sheets with various amounts of success. The good thing about blotting sheets is that you are not adding too much product to your skin, reducing the ‘cakey’ look that we all want to avoid. But the trouble with them is not tend to be mediocre….
Well, the other day in Superdrug my beady eye spotted this little beauties: Kleenex, who we all know and love for man sized tissues have made these blotting sheets – with a difference – they are NOT paper! These sheets are part of a fairly new range of skincare items from Kleenex – you can view the range here.
Summary:
Sold in Superdrug and other retailers
£2.99 for 50 sheets
Made from a plastic material
Contain no powder at all
Perfect for acne/sensitive skin types
“Man” friendly since they don’t contain any powder?!
Sleek and hygienic packaging
Only moderately effective – not as good as I wanted them to be.
3/5 from me.
Review:
These are made from a kind of plastic material and they do not have any powder on them, so that is what appealed to me when I saw them. The claim not to mess up your makeup too – that was another thing that attracted me to them.
The packaging is awesome, there is a nifty little sticker on the inside of the lid and when you open these up, one of the sheets sticks to the lid ready to use- very hygienic and great when you are on the move and don’t want to faff about. These are packaged so well, the outside looks pretty and they are so light and compact, perfect for throwing in your bag on a night out!
These are reasonably effective – and I think they are better than most powder blotting sheets I have used, plus you are not adding any powder or products, just removing the hideous shine!! These could be perfect for those with sensitive or acne prone skin as again they are powder free and will not cause any irritation!
Given they don’t contain any powder, maybe these will appeal to guys too? If your boy/man/OH has oily skin he could be persuaded (in the privacy of his bathroom) to try these out? Just a thought….
Now onto performance – I wasn’t expecting miracles with these, but I am not in love with them – they are just okay for me on my moderately oily skin, and more importantly I find they DO mess up my makeup, although its nothing horrendous! They are not “bad” but they are also not “great”. I find I use the same number of these during a day than I do with the paper blotting sheets, and these cost a little more so they are not mind blowing.
I do wish all blotting sheets would come in packaging like this and I love the idea that they don’t contain any product – but I am on the fence as to whether or not I would buy them again – I am leaning on probably not as the moment….To be they are not that different to paper blotting sheets (which are cheaper) and just as effective.
3/5 from me…
I got these in Superdrug, although they are probably sold eleswhere too, and they cost me £2.99
How do you deal with your lunchtime oillies? What works for you? I would love to hear your thoughts! Will you maybe give these Kleenex ones a try?
Thanks for reading!

Hi – these look like dupes of the Clinique sheets – which are much more expensive. I like the Clinique ones so I might give these a try! Thanks for a good review Grace x
