allthatslap blog

Love Your Skin London is a new brand and the brainchild of Lorraine Windslade, a lady with over 35 years experience as a facialist to thousands of clients and some celebrities! The range includes products for face and body, and I was excited to be reviewing two items for your face – the Intensive Hydra Gel Moisturiser and the Purifying and Balancing Serum.

All of the Love Your Skin products are available online - here and they offer free delivery over £50.

First up is a review of the Intensive Hydra Gel Moisturiser

This is for all skin types – costs £29.99 for 100ml.

This is what Love Your Skin have to say about it:

“Part of the Love Your Skin – Moisturising Apothecary to use daily, morning and night.

Suitable for all skin types and ages, either on its own or under make-up, this moisturiser delivers a light and gentle, yet intensive moisturising and hydrating experience. Collagen protein attracts and binds moisture to the surface of the skin, helping the skin maintain its youthful appearance. Customise this treatment moisturiser to suit the varying needs of your skin, by blending with the appropriate Love Your Skin Serums.”

This lotion has a lovely texture, its a mixture of a cream and a gel, and it feel non sticky and is very easily absorbed. It smells lovely, light delicate fragrance that smells very relaxing, I love it! It should be noted that the scent is not overpowering though or very heavy, its spot on! On my normal/oily combination skin, this provides just the right amount of moisture for me, but this may not be enough if you have dry skin.

A big plus with this lotion is that you can use it around your eyes, neck and décolletage as well as your face, so its a one stop shop in that sense.

I found it extremely pleasant to use, allowing me to put on my make-up straight away and it makes my skin super soft. Its one of the nicest moisturisers I have ever used.

Here are the ingredients of the Hydra Gel:

Aqua, Dicaprylyl carbonate, Glycerin, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Soluble Collagen, Glyceryl stearate, Cetearyl alcohol, Parfum, Tocopheryl acetate, Xanthan gum, Sodium stearoyl glutamate, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citral

In a nutshell, I absolutely LOVE this!!

5/5 from me!

Now onto one of the four serums in the range – I used the Purifying & Balancing Serum

This is £30.00 for 30ml

This is what Love Your Skin have to say about it:

“This intensive hydra-gel serum has been especially formulated to deliver a selection of nature’s finest ingredients which are locked into the most sophisticated skincare technology. Suitable for any skin type with areas that appear greasy and shiny, with blocked pores and blemishes.”

The Serum – Double click to enlarge

I have normal/combination oily, acne prone skin which fluctuates from being fairly clear to quite bad depending on my skincare, diet and stress. In the time I have been using this serum (for a month now) my skin has only improved, becoming progressively clearer and I put it down to the serum, combined with the lotion reviewed above. The serum contains sage and tea tree extracts.

This serum has a very light liquidy consistency, its much lighter than other serums I have used in the past. It sinks in extremely quickly and its not sticky at all. My skin drank this up and just loves it. Once I have applied this I apply the moisturiser over the top. It doesn’t seem to have any scent and is very pleasant to use.

You can mix the serum into the moisturiser and apply them both together that way, but I have to be honest, I have not done that, I have been using them separately. I find the serum kind to my skin but also very effective. I love it.

Here are the ingredients of the Serum:

Aqua, Alcohol denat, Coceth-7, PPG-1-PEG-9 Lauryl Glycol Ether, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Centella asiatica, Maltodextrin, Silica, Rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, Salvia officinalis leaf extract, Thymus vulgaris herb extract, Carum petroselinum extract, Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, PVM/MA Decadiene Crosspolymer, Glycerin, Chlorphenesin, Sodium hydroxide, Potassium sorbate, Sodium benzoate

5/5 from me!

The Packaging/Dispenser – Double click to enlarge

Overall, I really like both of these products, especially the lotion. I know they may seem expensive to some people but in my opinion they are fantastic quality and worth the money, as you get great results. The packaging is smart and clean, I really like the fact both items have pumps - hygienic and also travel freindly. The white with the black on the labels reminds me a little of Jo Malone for some reason! I would love to try more products from the brand and I think I will continue to use both the lotion and the serum, as my skin has benefited from both.

Once again, here is a link to the website where you can buy these lovely items and see what else they have on offer.

What do you think of these products? What products are in your skincare regime at the moment? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Thanks for reading!
