Lush Emotional Brilliance Lipstick in Passionate
Lush is a brand I don’t have much experience of. I have heard good things about it and they are great at giving out samples but I can never stay in the shop for long as the strong smell in the shop of all the product gives me a headache!
I saw on some other blogs like Annie’s Home Made Heaven that Lush have launched a makeup line and I was immediately drawn it to it – its called Emotional Brilliance whic I think is a great name!
I bought one lipstick to try – its a bright, fuschia pink called Passionate. Here is a link to it on the Lush website.
Summary:
Costs £14.50 for 5g
Glass packaging which is recyclable!
Liquid Lipstick
Pigmented and very long wearing!
Moisturising – contains Jojoba Oil
4.5/5 from me!
Review:
I adore the packaging! Its so cute and also eco-freindly as all of it is recycable!
The texture of the lipstick is interesting – its a liquid lipstick. Its very pigmented which is great and it applies really smoothly and evenly. The finish is satin – which I think is lovely.
You can sheer out this lippy by putting some gloss or balm on and then dabbing on the lippy and blending. I do that for work – else I feel the color is too strong. Having said that for a night out this is a gorgeous bold colour that I think would be fab on a variety of skintones – if the rest of your make up is toned down.
This does not dry out your lips at all since it contains jojoba oil and its incredibly long wearing – I mean this baby can seriously do the mileage!! At first I was skeptical how long it would stay on since its a liquid lipstick but trust me when I say I am amazed! It is one of the longest wearing lipsticks I have ever tried!
You can also use this (and the other lipsticks) as a blush however I have not tried as I think this would be too bold of a colour. Given the wear on the lips I imagine this would make a really long wearing blush too!
Here are the ingredients:
At £14.50 this is not cheap, but its good quality, I like the ingredients and its very pigmented so it will last a very long time.
I’m loving it and giving it a 4.5/5

i have always loved lush and was a huge fan of their beauty range B never too busy to be beautiful before it closed down but have to say that I do appreciate their ethics etc but think it’s becoming prohibitively expensive; I can remember when I was working (ok eldest son is 5 so it’s at least 5 years back) but I used to be able to nip into their South Molton St store and come out with a bag full of stuff for not a huge amount but now it’s a considered purchase. Angels on Bare Skin is still something I think is fab though.

Hi Tracey, I am fairly new to Lush so I dont know the range you are referring too, but I do agree that Lush is not cheap and you need to consider every purchase whether or not you are working. I do like this lippy and it will last me a long time, and is natural but I am not sure if I would buy any more in other shades any time soon due to the cost.
Thanks so much for your comment xx

Thanks for the link sweetie
Its my favourite lipstick of all time, I love it.
To tone it down enough for a blush colour its fab mixed with a bit of moisturiser, just a tiny dot of the lipstick is enough for a pretty blush that way.
Glad you like it xx
