TFWOC Project – Part 1 – Abi O BeauBronz Shimmer Tan Boost
I am taking part on a series of reviews, with a bunch of other lovely bloggers – the project is all about tanning for women of colour – hence the TFWOC abbreviation!
The project was the idea of LaaLaa Monroe from Dolce Vanity and Annie from EpiphannieA and altogther there are 10 bloggers involved, all Aisan or Afro-Caribbean! Annie and LaaLaa have worked extremely hard on this and I cannot thank them enough and I am SO excited to be part of this project, as often tanning is focussed and targeted towards lighter women. You can read up more about this project here, but basically for 5 weeks we shall be testing out and reviewing different brands of tanning products to see which ones are the best and share our experiences!
Here is a list of the other bloggers (as well as Annie and LaaLaa mentioned above) that are taking part in this project:
Lola – Lola Star Hearts
Safiyah – FrootiBeauty
Tass – Une Tasse
Hafsa – Muslimah Beauty
Sophia – Tattoed Tea Lady
Yinka – Vex In The City
Stephanie – Nerd About Town
Dija – Dijas World

First up this week is the Abi-O Beabronz Shimmer Tan Boost
Abi-O Beaubronz products are paraben, mineral oil,SLS, SLES and cruelty free – all pluses if you ask me!
This product is £8 for 50ml trial size or £24 for 200ml- I think the price is what I would call mid-range.
This contains rosehip seed oil which is a lovely moisturiser, and it also contains aloe vera!
The fragrance in this is allergen free, which is brilliant!
Here is what Abi O have to say about it:
“This mini Shimmer Tan Boost with Glistening Gold is a great trial size and is best suited to tanned, black or brown skin.
Apply in circular movements evenly over the body. Either using our velvety soft tanning mitts or with your hands, after showering, bathing or using our pre tan hydrating spray- Exfoliese. Wait a few minutes before dressing. To avoid discolouring of palms was hands with soap and water immediately after use.”
Review:
This is a nice product to use to if you want some extra “glam” and of course shimmer – as the name suggests! It is really easy to control how much product you release, for that reason I really like the packaging and a little of this should go a long way. This is not a long lasting “tanning” product that stains, you can apply this and then wash it off at the end of the day or night or the next morning! I think that is a massive plus, since for me, its not something I would use all the time. It also means if you go crazy and apply too much its not a nightmare to remove.
Once this is applied it takes a couple of minutes to dry and then you are left with a shimmer finish which is pretty and very feminine. I have taken pics with and without flash so you can see the difference but in reality I think the flash pic is a closer indication of what this product is like on. One thing I really didn’t like was the smell, at first I didn’t notice any smell but then it hit me and I am not keen, I can’t describe it (helpful I know!) its not your typical biscuit smell that you get with tanning products, I can handle that, this is something else – but a little unpleasant!
Whilst I do like it, its not a product I can see myself using a lot unless I am on holiday or on a special night out and I want to glam it up!
Overall, I love the fact the product is free of many harsh and harmful ingredients, love the packaging and the “oh la la” element! I love the fact you can buy this in a smaller container to try out – I wish you could do this with every product out there in general!!
If shimmer is your sort of thing then you will love this! There is no doubt about that!
Here is a link to the Abi O website.
Overall, I am giving this 3.5/5!
Let me know what you think of this product and if you think you might give it a try! I would love to hear from you! What are your favourite shimmer or tanning products!?
Thanks for reading!

P.S – this post and related posts contains a PR sample, however my reviews are always honest and my thoughts are my own
You can trust me on that, but you cant trust me not to steal your blusher if I like it!

Love your review honey!!!!
It seem that everyone loved the effects of the product but not really the smell, but when you think about how great this is for your skin and how it doesn’t contain many negative ingredients . . . . makes you want to use it but dose yourself with perfume
