Weleda Citrus Deodorant

I love natural products in general and when I got the opportunity to sample this as part of the goodies at #LiveBloggers I was looking forward to trying it. This product was requested by Erin O’Connor at London Fashion Week and so some of this and other Weleda products were carted over there for the models!

The price is reasonable, 100ml costs £8.50. Here is a link to the Weleda website.

This deodorant is made up of more than 60% natural ingredients and does not contain aluminium, which is arguably dangerous and should be avoided.  The scent of is really fresh and zesty – as you would expect since its “citrus”. I really like the scent its really refreshing and perfect for the mornings, but I can see how it could possibly be “too much” for some as it is very zest indeed.

Performance wise this is pretty good but not the best deodorant I have ever used, having said that its the first natural deodorant I have used, and I am happy with how its performed.

I sprayed it on in the morning and by late afternoon I think it had worn off somewhat. I went into the ladies to have a whiff of myself and I think I needed a little re-spritz. I didn’t stink but I was not as fresh as I am normally if I had used my regular Sure.

As a body spray, rather than a deodorant, I think this is lovely. I would without a doubt use it in the summer to freshen up on a flight or something, however as a deodorant I think I need something with more ‘bite’.

I do think the glass bottle makes it heavy and not ideal to cart around in your bag, if you just use this at home then its fine, and I like that you can see how much is left in it. The glass means its not the most travel friendly product either, but hey, we cant have it all I guess?!

Here are the ingredients:

If you prefer to use natural products this is definitely worth checking out. I have in the past tried the Pomegranate Creamy Body Wash which is lovely, and I have reviewed that here.

You can buy Weleda on their website and find them in health food shops such as Whole Foods etc

Overall I am giving this a 3/5

Let me know what you think! Ever used a natural deodorant before?! What is your “go to” deodorant normally?!

Thanks for reading!

P.S – this post and related posts contains a PR sample, however my reviews are always honest and my thoughts are my own :-) You can trust me on that, but you cant trust me not to steal your blusher if I like it!

  • I have been using this over the past 2 weeks & i have been liking it so far. I don’t think it would stand the test during the summer. But as for a winter deodorant where I tend not to get so hot it works well. I love its scent too. So fresh

  • Thanks for your comment Vicki! I am glad you like this, I like the scent too, I agree with you I dont think it would hold up in the summer as a main deodorant but I think it will be a lovely body spray for refreshing yourself! Just a shame the bottle is glass and so its heavy!
