Collection – Illuminating Touch Concealer

Collection Illuminating Touch Concealer Review

I think we have all heard rave reviews about the Touche Eclat from YSL? I was thinking about investing in that when I came across this from concealer from  Collection (previously known as Collection 2000).

At £4.99 this is a bargain and I had to try it before splurging on the pricey YSL.

It is available from Boots and Superdrug.

This is what Collection have to say about it:

  The perfect eye brighetning concealer.

- Contains light diffusing particles to naturally illuminate eyes.

- Helps conceal dark circles and blemishes.

Review:

I bought this as an under eye concealer and in a nutshell, I like it.

The packaging is hygienic, although it took SO many clicks to get it going that I thought it was faulty to begin with!

There is a little brush at the end of the nozzle making it really easy to apply and get the right amount out. I really like the fact you don’t need a separate brush when using this, so its great for popping into your handbag for touch ups.

I apply this underneath my eye in the corner and then blend it with my finger, patting it in. Its got a liquid consistency so that helps to blend it easily.

I don’t have much of a problem with dark circles or puffiness but this does work really well on me, brightening up my eyes.

The good thing about this is that it doesn’t settle into my fine lines and crease or appear cakey.

The lasting power on me is okay – it lasts for about 5-6 hours before I have to reapply. I can live with this – and the concealer is light and so its no hassle carrying it around for touch ups.

One major downfall of this is the very limited shades – it only comes in 3 shades and I have this in 03, Glow – the darkest shade. I am medium olive NC35. I doubt I can use this in the summer as it will be too light for me.

Overall, I think if you find a shade that works for you then this is worth a try before splurging on another concealer like the YSL. Don’t expect this to be life changing, however for under £5 it does a good job and I am happy with it. I say this is a good buy.

This is my first experience of a concealer like this – whilst I am happy with this, it would be nice to use another one to compare it to.

  • I love this concealer though it still doesn’t quite beat the By Terry one. Though this is a much more purse friendly version. x

  • It’s a shame they don’t cater for more skin tones :/ I really like their lasting perfection concealer, for the money it’s really decent, not a patch on the PerriconeMD No concealer concealer though!

  • Yeah luckily I did, the guy who deals with the Collection complaints is lovely, he asked me to send it back and sent an envelope with some bubble wrap and a stamp and then sent me £20 worth of vouchers to say sorry! :) xxx

  • I have used this foundation for years and I absolutely love it! Definitely gets rid of any blemishes amazingly…
Also I agree with the beginning bit where you have to click it round for forever – I thought it was faulty at first also!
I’ve also done a review on this compared to an Yves Saint Laurent illuminating concealor a little while ago – http://laurengordonx.blog.com/ xx
