Wet n Wild – Silent Treatment Trio Palette

Double click to enlarge

Wet n Wild is one of those brands that I wished we had easy access to in the UK. Its such good value and the products are pretty decent. I in particular like the eye shadows.

I have done so many swaps with US ladies and this is one I have had for a while, I recently rediscovered it at the back of the eye shadow drawer!

These retail for about $3 in the US for 3.5g of shadow in total.

You can buy them on Ebay sometimes, but obviously they are marked up somewhat. I have found this palette on Amazon for £3.50 so snap it up if you like it!

Review:

Lets start with the things I like – my favourite shadow is the taupe lid shade, it’s a gorgeous satin shade. I also like the top shade – the light colour which you can use as a highlight or in the inner eye. Both are very usable, the taupe is just stunning and universally flattering. I cant get enough of it, although I am a complete sucker for taupe eye shadows. The pigmentation of the taupe shade is amazing, its rich, applies really well and blends easily. The light shade is not quite as pigmented but still, its good. Its also not as rich but still applies like a breeze.

I get good wear from these Wet n Wild shadows as long as I wear primer, for me on average they don’t fade or crease for around 10-11 hours which is good enough for me for such a low price.

Here is what I don’t like – the dark crease shade is not a favourite of mine. It contains some chunky glitter which I am not keen on, but its also a little chalky and doesn’t blend well. Its okay since I rarely wear browns like this anyway and I still love the palette despite not liking this shadow.

Another thing I am not keen on is the packaging. I know this is a cheap brand but the packaging *looks* cheap and these shadows are prone to breaking easily which is a shame.

Finally – my usual bug bear – the ingredients in this are not fab but again, for a cheap brand I can live with it. Much more expensive brands put the same nasties in their products so what can I expect??

Bottom line – if you want a good palette for a low price when you are on holiday in the USA or if you arrange a swap with someone in the US then I do highly recommend this palette or others from Wet n Wild!
