Although its still freezing out there, Spring is, in theory around the corner, and if you ask me it couldn’t come soon enough!
KIKO is an Italian brand, which I have blogged about before. They offer great quality makeup and skincare and are located in both Westfield Shopping Centres in London, as well as other locations and of course online. The makeup is really good quality and the prices are so reasonable. KIKO often has sales making the items even better value for money! Whoop Whoop!
The Colours of the World Collection is their latest limited edition collection and is out in stores now and online here.
From what I can gather all of the items below are mineral oil and paraben free however they do contain phenoxethanol (you can’t have it all, hey!?). Still I am so pleased they do not contain two of my most hated ingredients. For that reason alone I am loving KIKO even more now!
Here are some pieces from the collection and my initial thoughts about them. Overall, I love the pieces they are gorgeous, vivid and really fun! The collection comprises of more items such as lip glosses, brushes and stick eye shadows, which are not shown below.
Skin Glow Light Effect Day Cream £12.90 for 40ml
Whilst strictly speaking this is skincare, I think it can be used as a highlighter too. Once its blended into the skin it leaves the skin looking radiant and there are tiny micro sparkles in it. It smells absolutely delightful! It contains SPF and can be worn under your foundation, as well as on your neck and decolletage. It promotes cell renewal and an increase in the production of collagen, as well as making the skin more radiant. This is the first skincare item I have ever tried from KIKO.
Colour Explosion Multi-Tone Blush – £11.90 for 9g
This is a lovely blush palette, the packaging alone is so beautiful, yet fun! I adore it. Its really well made, sturdy and has a mirror in the lid. I have 04 Bold Coral. Inside there are three shades, one could be used as bronzer, there is a beautiful blush shade and a light pink that would make the perfect highlighter. KIKO say you can use the shades individually or blended together. The finish of these is satin. I am in love, one of my favourite items in the collection.
Colour Splash Multi-Tone Bronzer – £13.90 for 13g
This is similar to the blush above, it has three shades that can be blended together for a natural sunkissed look. I have this in 01 – Hilarious Honey but there is another shade also available. I think the main shade in the middle would be a good contouring shade when used alone. The compact is bigger than the blush, but very similar and also has a mirror in the lid.
Colour Party Palette – Wet and Dry Eye Shadows – £16.90 for 14g
This is a super fun palette of very bright colours for spring and summer! The shadows can be used both wet and dry which is awesome. Like the blush and bronzer the packaging is good quality, housing a large mirror. The three left shadows are shimmery and the last 3 have a pearl finish, they are all very pigmented. Whilst I love bright eye shadows, esp in the summer, these are a bit too bright even for me!! There are 4 palettes in total, I have 03, Rainbow Cake.
Long Lasting Lipstick – £6.90 for 1.3g
I have tried KIKO lipsticks before but never one from their Long Lasting range. I love the three shades I have received, the formula is lovely, creamy and they have a subtle sheen to them, said to be smudge proof and the shades are very pigmented. The finish of these is satin and I think the packaging is elegant. I have 02, 03 and 06.
There are a total of 6 shades.
Loose Pigment Eye Shadow – £5.90 for 6g
I am a fan of pigments, they are great for mixing up to create new shades and using them in clear nail varnishes. I have lots of MAC pigments but I do think these are overpriced. I have two of these from KIKO – 29 and 30. These are very fine and contain beautiful silver shimmer, they are gorgeous. KIKO have priced these so reasonably- you get a whopping 6g for just under £6, and their quality is fabulous! Altogether there are 6 shades of pigments.
Wild Eyes Kajal Eyeliner – £7.90
I have this in 03, it has a deep, dark black kajal end and a lovely cobalth/midnight blue end. The pencils are fairly soft and apply smoothly. KIKO also sell a precision pencil sharpener to enable you to get a fine point on these when sharpening (£3.20). These pencils come in 4 shades.
Celebration Nail Lacquer – £4.90 for 11ml
These nail colours are gorgeous, the emerald green shade (423) is my favourite and will no doubt be a big seller seeing as one of the key colours for spring/summer is emerald green. This shade and 424, the purpley-blue shade contain micro shimmer whereas the classy peach shade does not. The formula is said to be quick drying and long lasting. There are 10 shades in total, all limited edition.
Overall, I love the items from this collection. I think you get the gist of the fact I love the packaging, but I do also love the majority of the products. I think these will sell really well, and for good reason – KIKO are fab! I need the weather to really step up a gear and for winter to jog on so I can rock some of these gorgeous bright shades!
If you have not tried anything from KIKO I urge you to give them a try, I really don’t think you will be disappointed!
You can check out this collection online from here. PUMP THE BREAKS – What is even more fab is that KIKO currently 20% off using code ONLY4YOU13 (valid until 3rd March). Also, there is an outlet section on the site where you can grab some bargains!
