A while back Space NK had a sale and I treated myself to this gloss. You may not know much about the brand but its the creation of a lady called Terry de Gunzburg who prior to setting up the brand worked for YSL and created the world famous Touche Eclat. Her brand, By Terry was launched in 1998.
This gloss is no longer on the Space NK website which is a shame but its still on the French By Terry site – see it here where its been reduced to 12 Euros, so if you know anyone in France you could ask them to get it. Alternatively its £25.95 on this site with free shipping.
This is what By Terry have to say about it:
This “Maximizer” gloss packed with moisturizing, plumping and collagen-boosting active ingredients amplifies the volume of the lips, sculpting them in luscious, ultra-glossy shades.
Its filmogenic texture protects the lips and ensures silky smooth, non-sticky, stay-put application.
Its precise brush and delicious fragrance make this sexy balm a delight at any time.
I like this gloss, it is non-sticky – stickiness is something that really puts me off glosses but happily this is not like that. I also really like the applicator. You can squeeze the tube and the gloss comes out the brush dispenser. Its then easy to apply this to the lips. I like this method, its fairly hygienic whilst also being good for applying on the go.
The finish of the gloss is very glossy and it has heavy pigmentation. I like this shade, it’s a conservative nude with rose base and I think its very wearable. I think this would flatter many skin tones.
I see some plumping happening but not all that much. I have tried lots of “plumping” lip glosses in the past and they have stung my lips, meaning I am quite put off by them now. I am happy to report that this didn’t sting my lips at all, which was a pleasant surprise.
The wear of this on me is decent enough, it lasts around 3 hours, so I think the wear is average. What is great about this is that it doesn’t dry out my lips at all and like I said above, you can re-apply it on the go quite easily.
Here are the ingredients:
Although this is not a cheap lip gloss I do think its worth the splurge if you have the spare funds. It is good quality, at the moment this is my favourite high end lip gloss.
I do want to try more By Terry products. If you have any recommendations please leave me a comment and let me know!
