GOSH Cosmetics – Spring Summer 2013 Collection
On Wednesday evening I went to a lovely event to check out the new Spring Summer goodies that GOSH is releasing very soon. Here are some pics from the night as well as the items in the collection and my initial thoughts on them! The collection is nice – there are some BB concealer and highlighter kits, some lovely long lasting eye liners, an a lash growth serum and lash growth mascara and some pretty nail polishes! All of the GOSH products are paraben free!
Here are some photos from the event!
Now on to the new products – All of the items in this collection are available from March 13th!
Starting off with the BB Skin Perfecting Kits - Available in two shades – £9.99 for 3 x 1.8g
After the success of GOSH’s BB Creams last summer I am not surprised they have now created these kits. Each kit comes with a good sized mirror, two shades of concealer and a highlighter. The consistency of the concealers is not too thick, I was expecting them to be more rich, their pigmentation is medium. The highlighter, being cream is probably best applied using fingers to warm it up a bit making it easier to apply.
Its nice to see this sort of product on the high street, I know MUA have made something similar recently and I have not tried, but other than that I am not aware of another product from drugstore brands like this.
Having only two shades – light and medium is a bit of shame. GOSH did really well with their 5 shades of BB cream, some in dark colours, I wish they had a darker one of these kits for women of colour. Perhaps they will add one soon?
There are two new shades of their Velvet Touch Eye Liners – £4.99 each for 1.2g
These liners are what I consider to be one of GOSH’s signature products, they are very smooth and creamy and apply really well. The lasting power of these is pretty decent. I have quite a few already and these two gorgeous shades are welcome additions! The new shades are Fashionista and Renaissance Gold.
Fashionista a gorgeous deep midnight blue with some very pretty bright blue glitter (which is very smooth) – it does remind me of MAC’s Pearlglide Eye Liner in Fly-By-Blue, however the MAC is brighter and the sparkles are more prominent so its not a dupe.
Renaissance Gold is stunning – its one of the goldest golds I have ever seen! It would look amazing with so many shadow combinations and really nice for evening makeup.
These pencils have to be sharpened which can be a pain, but its not a deal breaker for me – I really like both of these shades and if you have not tried these pencils out from GOSH I think they are definitely worth trying!
Next up are new eye liners from GOSH – The Ultimate Eyeliner – With a Twist – £5.99 each for 0.4g
These are available in three shades – Back in Black, Raw Grey and Kind of Blue.
I heard about these in January and was very keen to try them. The colours might be on the conservative side but they are wearable and let me tell you – these bad boys have some amazing staying power!! I swatched these in the evening and went to bed, in the morning the swatches were completely intact and I had to really use some effort to get them off in the shower! Worn on the eye, the staying power is amazing – these are truly very long wearing and did not budge for a good 16 hours yesterday! Wowzers!
The liners do not need to be sharpened and they are quite fine making it easy to draw a nice defined line. They are soft and don’t drag across the eye lid. I really like the formula and the wear of these. The grey and the black are mostly matte, only having a tiny sheen but the blue (my favourite of the three) does have more sheen to it and catches the light beautifully.
They have a nice rubber strip on the pencil to allow you get a good grip and the feel comfortable in the hand. They also have a nice smugder at the end if you want to smoke out the liner if you want to. They do not however, provide as good value for money as the Velvet liners as these are only 0.4g compared to 1.2g of Velvet liners.
These liners are very very good – and I think they will be a roaring success. I think they look and perform just as good, if not better than many high end liners and they are really worth checking out! For every day use when you need your makeup to last from morning until well into the evening, you cant go wrong with these! I hope they add more shades soon!
Now on to these – Growth Mascara – £8.49 for 10ml and Growth Serum – £14.99 for 6ml
I am really looking forward to trying these out – I am obsessed with lashes, I always want longer, fuller lashes but I hate falsies! I have tried some last serums in the past, some with amazing success but they tend to be quite pricey. GOSH have some to the rescue with these affordable alternatives.
I have not used a mascara before which claims to grow lashes so this is a first for me. For the Serum and the Mascara it states that you can expect results in just two weeks which is very fast as most product say you need to wait around a month before seeing results and up to 3 months for the full effect. Obviously at this stage I cant comment on how these perform but I will review them as soon as possible.
Again, I think that these will be really popular, the serum especially so only time will tell if they are good or not!
Finally the lovely polishes – The new Spring Summer Nail Polish shades are XXXX and £4.99 each.
4 of these new shades are glittery and I love them the most, especially Girls on Film!
In general I find GOSH polishes to be quite good. You need two coats of polish for a nice opaque finish and they apply smoothly and don’t take too long to dry. Whilst I don’t find the shades overly “summery” they are pretty and all very wearable and very on trend!
This is Highschool Flirt and Girls on Film together….

Overall, I think I am most excited about the lash growth products and Ultimate Eyeliners, though the BB Skin Perfecting Kits are cool too. I will be back with some indepth review of some of the products.
What do you think of the new items from GOSH Spring Summer collection? What floats your boat? Do you think you will try anything out when they come out on March 13th?
