Models Own have been very busy and are due to release another gorgeous collection of polishes for us for the AW season, following on from the Elements Collection, I blogged about last week.
The Velvet Goth collection has 5 lovely, highly pigmented varnishes that have an interesting finish. Each one has a lovely velvet cap, making it stand out from the other polishes in the ever growing range.
Each polish is only £5 for a decent sized 14ml bottle. These are limited edition, so do not hang about if you like the look of these.
The Velvet Goth collection polishes have a quirky finish to them – they dry matte but of course due to the glitter in the polishes they are not flat and dull. I really like the finish – I have not seen this from another brand. In the bottle they look as if they are normal glitter polishes – here is a close up of one of the bottles.
I also think the colours are fab and very on trend. My male friend saw my nails painted with these and immediately said they looked very gothic!
Each of the polishes are pigmented, two coats gives a great, opaque coverage, but you have to be a bit careful when applying them. They can go on a streaky and they do not apply as smoothly as the normal Models Own polishes. Having said that its not too much hassle at all and is certainly not a deal breaker.
The shades are: Absinthe, a deep emerald green, Valerian, a gorgeous dark blue, Sardonyx a stunning blood red, Amethyst, a beautiful, rich purple and Obsidian a very dark charcoal.
These polishes are being released gradually – they were released yesterday, exclusively in Models Own stores, then they will be on the Models Own website from the 2nd September. Boots get them from the 4th September and finally Superdrug will have them by the 25th September.
Which one is your favourite – drop me a line and let me know!
Thanks for reading!
P.S – this post contains PR samples, however my reviews are always honest and my thoughts are my own You can trust me on that, but you cant trust me not to steal your blusher if I like it!
