The Body Shop have recently created some fantastic new products including the Camomile Makeu-Up Removal Range, available in store from 20th August. The range includes four, effective yet gentle types of cleansing products. They are all suitable for all skin types including sensitive. I am going to review each one in turn.
First up is my favourite item of the range – the Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter – £12 for 90ml
This looks like lard. I kid you not, it looks just like lard and its not appealing in the tub. Having said that, it thankfully does not smell like lard and the similarities end on the appearance! This is a lovely, very luxurious cleansing butter and I absolultly adore it.
You take a small amount of this and apply to dry skin, massaging it in as you go. I massage for about a minute and then I add some water. This makes the butter go milky and it does a fantastic job of removing my all my makeup and impurities from the skin.I then use a muslin cloth to ensure that all of the dirt and product are removed from my skin, rinse and pat dry.
What I love about this is that its really effective but still gentle. This doesn’t leave my skin red, tight or dry in any way. It leaves my skin pampered but also oh so very clean.
Whilst this is a butter, the feeling it gives my skin is similar to the Elemis Cleansing Balm which I absolutely love, but this is really good value for money and a brilliant alternative, I have to say I think I love more than the Elemis (bold statement, I know!). I cant recommend this enough, its fantastic….I will have always have this in my routine!
Next up is the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil – £10 for XXml
Its no secret that I love cleansing oils. Along with balms and the butter above these are my favourite cleansing products and I love trying new ones.
I use this oil in a similar way to the Cleansing Butter, I apply to dry skin, massage it in well and then dampen and remove with a muslin cloth. This does a very good job of removing my makeup and cleansing whilst not being drying or irritating at all.
I do find I need to be more careful to ensure I have removed all of the oil with this than I do with the Butter, but its still a wonderful, cost effective product and I love the fact it comes with a pump dispenser. It doesn’t leave my skin sticky or greasy at all. Its one of the best cleansing oils I have ever used and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of using oils.
Another new product is the Camomile Makeup Remover – £8 for 250ml (also comes in a smaller size for £3)
This is a lotion and it can be used for all kinds of makeup, including eye makeup. Whilst I like this, its not my favourite and its not as effective as other cream makeup removers I have used. For me this is an average product and it doesn’t stand out as being special for me.
Last but not least is the Camomile Waterproof Eye & Lip Makeup Remover – £8 for 150ml
This is a bi-phase makeup remover similar to the world famous one by Lancome. You need to give this a good shake before using and a little of this goes a long way. This does a really good job of removing stubborn eye liner and mascara and long wearing lip products. It is still gentle on the skin though – it doesn’t leave a residue or have a nasty taste and it doesn’t dry out the skin at all. I am super impressed and along with the oil and butter I have been using this pretty much every day since getting it.
I know I will be buying the Cleansing Butter, Cleansing Oil and the Eye & Lip Makeup Remover for a long time to come. Its probably a good idea to stock up on these when they have another 40% off offer on – then its unbelievably good value. Even at full price, these products give high end brand a serious run for their money! Do check them out when they hit all stores on 20th August!
Let me know what you think of these – have you tried any of them yourself? Do you think you will be tempted to give them a try?
Thanks for reading!
P.S – this post contains PR samples, however my reviews are always honest and my thoughts are my own You can trust me on that, but you cant trust me not to steal your blusher if I like it!
