About Me

Hello Allthatslappers!

Welcome to All That Slap! I chose this name because I want this to be fun and I dont take myself seriously at all, nor should you – this is just my place to share my love for make up and all things lovely!

Email me on info@allthatslap.com - I want to hear from you!

Or feel free to leave comments at the end of reviews, thanks!

Created by me, Grace – a  Lawyer by day and a complete and utter make-up and beauty addict by night, this site is all about sharing my thoughts, experiences and opinions about  make-up and beauty, reviews of things I have used  – please let me know if there is anything you want to me to review or share my tips on! I am a member of Make up Alley, where I am a “Top Reviewer” (you can see my profile by clicking on the link)

I am Persian/Iranian, my skintone is combination (normal/oily) and I am moderately acne prone. I am what I’d say is a light/medium olive – MAC NC35/40, Laura Mericer Sunny Beige, Estee Lauder Tawny, Lancome 03, Sleek Fudge…etc….

I don’t pretend to know it all (far, far from it!) or pretend to be good at putting make up one well (some “comedy” pics to come for your amusement!), i just love all this shizzle to bits, but I dont love myself!

I love all make up that performs, meaning I am not a make-up snob, or somone who only buys certain brands because they are high end – for me its about whether a product is good, that could be from the highstreet or a high end department store. Some of my favourite brands are from the USA – such as NYX, Milani, Jordana, La Femme, Wet n Wild,  Closer to home, some of the brands I like are MAC (of course!), NARS, Bobbi Brown, Illamasqua, ELF, Barry M,  and Sleek ….the list could go on and on and on…….!

One of the reasons I set up this blog is because I get annoyed at cosmetic and beauty companies – they make crazy claims and big promises and then often dont perform all or many of their promises…leaving me disappointed and frustrated at having wasted my money! This especially annoys me in the UK (where I live) as most brands/stores do not give you a refund if their products under perform or worse, break you out or something (there are exceptions to this such as Estee Lauder and Clarins but the majority dont!). In contrast, in other countries, like the USA, where the stores offer great refund policies so you can be more wreckless in your make-up and beauty splurges, but its still good to read reviews. I hate to think of the amount of make-up I would have if I lived in the USA for this reason alone!

Through reviews, you can get an understanding of what to expect from a product, and possibly get an idea of how it compares to other products out there, and by moving away from mainstream media regarding beauty you learn there are so many natural products that deliver great results and save us a lot of money – but they dont want you to know that because they will not benefit by making lots of money from selling us products we think we need!

I love beauty products, but in particular natural or naturally derived beauty products and at home treatments. Not only are they good for us (no nasty chemicals), but they are kinder to our wallets too, and lets face it – what we save on beauty products we can spend on more make-up!! Now you cant say that is not a good idea :-)

Lastly, a large majority of the products I review are purchased myself using my own money, but sometimes I am sent items for PR purpose – you can however be assured that my reviews are 100% impartial and they always be! Too often magazines make out certain products are amazing bacause those same brands advertise in their magazines and give the items to them for free…..don’t believe all you read!

All in all I hope you enjoy AllThatSlap

I hope to hear from you soon!

  • I was looking for an alternative to Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser which I think is vastly overrated. I will now try No. 7 and let you know how I get on!!

  • Hi Hayley

Thanks for your comment, I am glad you like the blog! I recommend brands like Sleek, MUA, ELF and Maybelline for the best budget buys. Sleek in particular have very good eye shadows and blushes.

    All the best
